A large mall in Mexico City, Pampanga, Philippines (Global Plaza Mexico) is located in a one of the local biggest business district in the area, to meet the surrounding residents needs for supermarket, restaurants, pharmacy, bank, etc. In order to meet the local needs, the building operated from 8:00 to 21:00, thus their energy demand is very high. To meet this demand, the mall installed a rooftop PV power station and followed the local Philippine regulations PEC 2017 and equipped them with Rapid Shutdown Device (RSD) . However, due to the lack of monitoring of these RSD, it is impossible to obtain system operation data in real time, resulting in inconvenience in Operation and Maintenance(O&M), and it is difficult to do all-round asset management of the entire power station. In addition, the mall is densely populated. At the center of the building, it is occupied by many snack stalls and receives a large number of customers every day. Thus the safety of the power station has also become a top priority. For this reason, they decided to fully upgrade the power station and exploring for a suitable solution.

After an in-depth study and comparison of multiple solutions, the mall finally chosen the smart energy solution of AndSolar. This project has a total installed capacity of 923 kW, with 1,679 PV modules, and is equipped with 845 Smart RSDs and 10 ADCUs. These Smart RSD are designed for the safety and smart management of PV power plant, and have the ability to quickly shut down the voltage at the module level, fully complying with the Philippines local regulations of PEC 2017. During emergency, they can reduce the voltage of the PV system to below the safety standard of 80V within 30 seconds, effectively avoiding the risk of electric shock and effectively ensuring the safety of personnel and property. AndSolar RSD has three shutdown methods: high-temperature active shutdown, platform remote shutdown and on-site manual shutdown. Thus allowing customers to conveniently manage their power plant at any time and from any place.

Through AndSolar Cloud platform, the power plant realizes full life cycle monitoring at the module level. Customers can view the real-time operation status of each PV panel through the APP or web page at any time, including key data such as voltage, current, power, power generation and temperature, ensuring the control and safety of the power station. At the same time, a 1:1 virtual power station will be generated on AndSolar Cloud platform, which will allow customer to quickly locate faulty modules and significantly improves operation and maintenance efficiency. Moreover, the product can achieve module-level management accuracy and can shut down faulty module according to user needs, thereby reducing power generation losses in power plant.
