This summer, many parts of China have experienced continuous high temperatures, and the temperature in Suzhou , the headquarters of AndSolar, has repeatedly exceeded 40 ℃. This continuous high temperature weather is like a "double-edged sword" for PV power stations. While receiving more sunlight in the summer will increase power generation, it also brings potential dangers for the safety of the power station. Under long-term high temperature conditions , the relevant equipment in the PV system will undergo a huge "baking" test. On one hand, overheating of the equipment may cause failures, and on the other hand, it may potentially cause accidents such as fires in the power station, which directly poses a serious threat to the property and personal safety. In the hot summer, it has become one of the common habit to check the weather forecast one day prior to going out, so that we can make the preparation, but do you know the temperature of the PV power station?
Is the Temperature of PV Power Plants Too High?
Facing the Severe High Temperature Challenge, AndSolar's Smart RSD AMCL and Smart Optimizer AMCP products have smart temperature sensing systems. Users can view the device temperature data in real time, allowing your PV power station to "tell" you whether it feels hot. And through AndSolar Cloud Platform, an early warning will be issued when the device temperature reaches 75 ℃ , and an active shutdown mechanism will be triggered when the temperature rises to 85 ℃, to ensure the safe operation of the power station. In addition, customer can flexibly set personalized safety thresholds according to their region. No matter how the high temperature strikes, AndSolar can help to prevent some of the potential power station accident before it "burns", making your PV power station smarter and safer.
The highest flame retardant standards, adding safety
The high temperature challenge is not just a temperature contest, but also a rigorous test of the flame retardant properties of AndSolar product materials. We use a variety of high-performance materials that meet the highest flame retardant grade V-0 in the US UL94 standard. This means that even after being burned by the flame for 10 seconds, the material being used in our product can extinguish itself within 30 seconds, greatly reducing the risk of fire spread. Whether it is the sealing glue, cassing, cable or terminal being used in building the product, these key materials have been rigorously tested to ensure that they still perform well under the most extreme conditions, thus increasing the reliability of the PV power station.
DC High Voltage “Nemesis” in PV System, Protecting the Safety of Power Plant
In extreme cases, whether it is a fire happening inside a building or a fire in the PV system due to a fault, the DC high voltage in the PV string will still exist under continuous exposure from the sun conditions, even if the system is cut off by an inverter or circuit breaker or string level RSD. In distributed photovoltaic scenarios, the system is often combined with buildings or located near places where people are active. A photovoltaic system that cannot be timely shut down at the module level will seriously threaten the safety of firefighters and emergency personnel, and may cause greater losses.
AndSolar's smart rapid shutdown device AMCL and smart optimizer AMCP products have a module-level rapid shutdown function, which can quickly cut off voltage of each individual PV module in the system in an emergency, thereby eliminating the DC high voltage in the system, thereby improving system safety and maximizing the protection of life and property.
